Editorial Policies

Editorial independence

The editorial decision-making process is independent of all commercial concerns. Editorial decisions are dealt with strictly within the editorial structures.

Authorship

All authors must have made substantial contributions to conception and design, or acquisition of data, or analysis and interpretation of data. Authors should note their contributions. Authors must have revised the manuscript critically for important intellectual content and given final approval of the version to be published.

We consider corresponding author to act on behalf of all co-authors during the manuscript assessment and publication process and ask to confirm that the corresponding author is authorized to act on behalf of all co-authors, and that all listed authors have agreed to all contents of the manuscript including the author list and author contribution statements.

Conflict of interest

Authors should provide a conflict of interest statement. Any interest or relationship, financial or otherwise must be disclosed when directly relevant or directly related to the work that the authors describe in their manuscript. If the authors have no conflict of interest to declare, they must also state this at submission.

Corrections and retraction

Our responsibility is to maintain the integrity of the published literature and to address questions and challenges. We have distinguished processes to investigate allegations of publication and research misconduct and policies for corrections and retractions. In those cases, we work closely with the authors.

This journal offers readers open access to all its contents in accordance with the assumption that free availability of research benefits the acquisition and transfer of knowledge (see Budapest open access initiative and Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in Science and Humanities).
